Update From IOSA Site

This morning I was surprised to see that the Chip-In widget was gone from IOSA site, so I called Ms. Regina Henry and I was told that they have decided to remove the Chip-In widget, since it caused some confusion. People have donated through Paypal button in IOSA page before the Chip-In widget was installed two days ago. The total amount as of this morning was some $6,400 and counting. That also included the $850 collected via Chip-In widget as of this morning before the IOSA site removed the widget.

Since I only provide an anchor page for that widget created by Ms. Befrika Murdianti of OKSU (per my suggestion), there is no reason to keep the widget if the IOSA page didn’t want to carry it. Ms. Henry agreed with that idea. Later in the afternoon, I talked to Ms. Befrika, and she told me that beside the confusion caused by the numbers shown on Chip-In widget and the real number that people have sent via Paypal Donation button, they also found out that Chip-In widget only accept the contribution from US alone. Ms. Befrika said someone from Canada tried to contribute via Chip-In widget but could not go through.

I told both Ms. Henry and Ms. Befrika that I would be happy to pull the widget down from this site as well asĀ my Indonesian blogs and ask my friend who has installed it to do the same. But it would be until I get home tonight. So here is the latest screen shot I took around 7:00PM Central Time. I hope in the next update the IOSA site would acknowledge the receiving of $1,040 from 20 people as listed in the widget. Good luck to IOSA for the campaign and my sincere thanks to all that have contributed via the widget. We will keep Rina in our prayers.
