The Ultimate Online Shopping Destination

For a long time, there is a link Go Shopping in the Feature Sites on the sidebar of the Homepage. I have never actively promoted it in my postings. However, last week while in Miami, I watched the excitement of the audience when Google and Market America Teams announced their partnership that would affect some 160,000+ Market America portals, including Market Australia, Market Taiwan and Market Hongkong’s portals. The 20,000+ unfranchise owners and their guests in the audience shown in the picture below at American Airline Arena went crazy during that announcement.

There is an article in Fox Business describing this partnership, where Nitin Mangtani, Head of Google Enterprise Search Products was quoted saying:
“We are pleased to work with Market America to deliver search capabilities to the over 3 million customers that shop there. Together we are implementing a search solution that will revolutionize the way Market America’s customers shop online.”
As a Market America Unfranchise owner, I’m glad with these new features that would available in our web-portals:
- Results Grouping - Allows customers to navigate search results easily and clearly using intelligent grouping of products
- Automatic spell-check - Allows the searcher to avoid missing results through typos or misspellings
- Advanced Boolean Search - Customer can perform sophisticated queries with over 10 special query terms, including Boolean AND, OR, and NOT searches
- Number Range Search - Customer can restrict search results by a number range, making it easy for users to restrict by price range or other numerical values.
- Synonyms - Pre-defined synonyms for Market America specific terminology will be displayed to the user as suggested alternative search queries
But most of all, these enhancements mean there will be more IBVs (Incentive Business Volumes) for the 160,000 unfranchise owners of Market America, Market Australia, Market Taiwan and Market Hongkong, which also mean more money to the unfranchise owners. Not only that, the portal would become the ultimate online shopping destination in the next two to three years. I can’t wait to see when Market America will surpass Amazon.com!
