At least, it is what he likes to call himself. His friends also love to refer him as the root of all evils. However, from what he has done, I don’t know if he was a real evil or what. May be he is a bipolar in the sense, to some he was, he is and he will always be an evil,
but to others, he was, he is and he would always be a Saint in disguise. ![]()
Here is two examples for your consideration if this is the first time you hear about John Chow or johnchowdotcom.
First, in March this year, he had raised over $1000 to feed the hungry in Easther. Yes, I did contribute to that since I wanted to learn how to get the exposure via John Chow’s link. Then last week, he campaigned again to donate for the project to feed the homeless people at Union Gospel Mission in his hometown for a Thanks Giving dinner, and he raised $3700 for that. In both cases, half of the money were coming out of his pocket as matching funds. Stephen Fung has a blog entry on Dot Com Foodies hit the Union Gospel Mission to tell you their works. So does Michael Kwan with his Blogger Form Union entry. Then you may ask, so what this has to do with our effort to support baby Gratia’s surgery?
Well, the answer is dependent on what side John Chow is in when he found this posting. As I said, he may be a bipolar or an Yin and Yang guy.
Do you have any idea on what is that?![]()

I don’t know what factors affect that, but I don’t think it is related to the cycle of the moon. If he is in the positive or the Yang site, definitely he will put a link to this blog and send a lot of visitors that will click the ad to contribute to baby Gratia’s fund. But if he is in the dark cycle or the Yin side, then we can only pray that he will wake up soon and add the story to help baby Gratia to his site. After all, did you notice how much he made in September this year? He made $2000 from people paying him to review their websites in his mighty blog. It’s $400 per review. You’d say “Wouw!”, right? But that’s is how people value his review. It is the visitors, the visitors, and the visitors!
We also desparately need it — the visitors, especially the one send by the root of evil, John Chow. Suppose, we only get 10% of John Chow’s readers to visit our blog, and get few clicks from their visits, that would mean a lot to us, particularly when we only have less than 10 days to raise this money.
I talked to Wiston, baby Gratia’s father few minutes ago but the phone line was so bad. May be more people were on the phone for Idul Fitr greetings (Idul Fitri or Lebaran in Indonesian) over there. As Winston has mentioned in his letter or my friend Amy confirmed in her comment, the VSD baby would always have problem with the breathing. We can only pray that the Lord would give her strength to wait until the Idul Fitr vacation is over and National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita would be back for business again. During this waiting period I hope that we would get enough supports especially from the bloggers like John Chow and the gang that would send more people to come to click on the ad in this blog.
BTW, I just signed up and now you can see the TTZ ad in this page. I think the rule is the same, please don’t click on it for the shake of clicking to get money for baby Gratia only. The advertisers pay the click to get exposure to their products or services. Please click on the advertisement in each page once, then visit and surf their sites to see what they are offering there. Count that as you’re contributing your time for baby Gratia and I will collect the money for her when they pay for your visit to their site. Is that fair?
Last but not least, for my Moslem visitors who are celebrating the Idul Fitri, let me say this Indonesian greetings to you. “Selamat Hari Raya Idul Fitri. Minal Aidin Walfaizin.”
