Rank Chaser

Sometime I really felt like an idiot [yes, I know, many of you will say "you're" while reading this :-) ] when posting a comment, particularly at John Chow’s blog with no meat no matter how would you like to slant it. But John was so nice and has left us inundated his blog with all sort of comments that some time would make you puke at the first place. :-)

I also have to thank Saman who I knew from John Chow’s big community, since I soon learned that being listed in John’s blog was one sure way to increase your Technorati rank as Saman himself has proved it. That’s the kind of reward many of John Chow’s visitors were chasing after, so I thought may be it would be a good idea to call these frequent posters there including myself as a ‘Rank Chaser’ instead of a ‘dedicated commentator’ or worst yet, a ’spammer’. :-)

Just a week ago, after implementing Saman’s approach my Technorati rating had jumped from 7 figures to 260 thousand range. But please, take a look at what I have this morning at the bottom of these three records.

Yesterday I spent long hours in front of computer. Wrote 3 posts, applied Time stamping to them as John recently mentioned in his post, visited and left comments on many blogs then went to bed very late. Ah ha,… remember what did they say about Blog Addict? Checking your Technorati Rank every minute, right?

Haha, not every minute, but that was what I did when I woke up this morning. No it didn’t jumped from 208 thousand to 64 thousand. But I was lazy to watch the slow pace in the past few days and I have stopped recording the rating every minutes.

Thanks to John Chow’s generousity to let us competing to climb our posting-counter ladder, and thanks to Saman for teaching us on how to spam gracefully :-) and here I’m at Technorati rank of 64,031. I think it’s a matter of time for this number to climb up furthter. Right, Saman? The question is, do I have that much time to spend like this every day?

Few days ago, when I applied for Text Link Ad, I was told that the hits on my site was too low or something to that effect, but as I was typing this post, I saw an invitation coming in saying that “We are happy to announce that your website has been pre approved at AuctionAds.com!

Isn’t that great! Again, thank you Master Chow, thank you Brother Saman. Also thanks to all that have linked to me or should I say, thank for all that have let my comment slipped through to your blog. :-)

You welcome!! You’re right, it is only a matter of time before our ranks grow further, but we can’t just rely on linkbacks from Top Commentator lists. We need to concentrate on building relationships in our community and great content!
