Phone call from Boston, etc.

I got a phone call early this morning. My fried in Boston informed me that his church in Jakarta had invited Winston to come to the 9AM Sunday Service tomorrow. My friend and I could only hope and pray that Winston and his family would see the light at the end of the tunnel there. Please join us to pray for baby Gratia and her family for what they have gone through and let the Lord be their pilot.
When I called them right after that phone call, Winston and Desy told me that they have already received the invitation from the Church yesterday and they planned to go there together. I’m glad to hear that even though I was a bit worry about that travel in hot Jakarta’s weather for baby Gratia. Few moment ago, when I tried to confirm the Church website’s URL while working on this entry, my friend in Boston told me that he finally got in touch with Winston and Desy after our conversation this morning. Yeah, he remembered now who Desy was. They knew each others while he was still in Jakarta since as I mentioned the other day, Desy was graduated from the same Seminary as my friend. I also learned from the Rondos that Winston was from West Timor, like me, while Desy was from Jakarta.
Oh BTW, I was checking johnchow.com this morning since someone has paid John Chow dot com $400 to Review their website about investment. I had also posted a comment there last night, in which I mentioned St. John’s Capital Group to show an example of an investment company that is paying twice the CD rate to their investors. I like St. John’s Capital Group because I have followed the posting of the CEO Edwin Yeh at richdad forum since 2001. I’m also active in their discussion forum, and you can find many interesting stories from the personal blog of the Yesinvestor here.
While I was checking all the comments in John Chow’s blog, I also came across this particular comment by a guy name Jerry Brown. The comment really makes sense, and out of curiosity I went to check the site listed. You wouldn’t believe what I found there. It was non other than Jerry Brown, the Attorney General of the State of California. No kidding! I have seen this guy many times on TV, and I could even recognized his voice without seeing his image on TV.
Once again, you can see here the power of Internet. At least it was Parokinet, the online Parish for Indonesian Catholics that has brought my friend from Boston and I here. It was the Internet that has brought the plight of baby Gratia to the world. We just hope it was Internet that would also help baby Gratia with her surgery! Would you be one of the helping hands?
