Lunar Eclipse March 3, 2007

The eclipse happened when the moon was just rising above the horizon. I had to move around searching for better position to avoid tree bracnhes and that was the reason why these pictures are not moving linearly across the frame.

Here are what I got tonight:

The first picture was taken at 18:46 and the last picture at 19:19 Central (GMT -6).

I missed the ISS passing tonight since the altitude of 23 degree seems to be a little bit harder to see from my location.

    Great pics, Aris,

It was overcast with snow here in Cleveland, Ohio and we did not get a chance to watch.

Great shots! It would have been better if we can distinguish the different phases.

From my location, the Eclipse happened during moon-rise, and I didn’t prepare at all. By the time I went out to check it, I realized that the time was going to running out on me since we would only get the last phase. It was also very cold outside, so I simply took those pictures from my backyard with the consequence to move around. I haven’t checked the info on the one that is coming this August. Hopefully I can get better shots at that time. Thanks for stopping by.
