Losing weight, could it be that easy?

Recently I saw many ads on TV showing people losing weight by just eating prepared foods that can be ordered from a company that would only cost less than $10 a day. In some of the ads they would show some celebrities that have lost some 50 to 100 lbs. The first thing that came to mind after watching the ad of this guy that has lost 100 lbs in one year was, could it be that easy? I mean, I have known and met many people that were participating in Transitions Lifestyle weight management program that have lost 100 lbs too, but instead of eating ONLY processed foods, they could eat any thing that they could prepare or eating out in the restaurant as long as these foods are in the low glycemic index food list. But they also have to excersise which was NOT mentioned in those ads. As stated in the Our Plan page of the TLS website:

“The Transitions Lifestyle System includes: low-gylcemic index (GI) meal plans, a daily journal to guide you, weight-management supplements to accelerate weight loss, entrees, bars and shakes to keep you on track, behavior modification and support materials to ensure your success, an interactive Web site to track your progress and more!”

The following video shows an overview of the Transitions Lifestyle System presented by Dr. Shari Lieberman and her special guests at Market America’s Leadership School in February 2008 in Miami.

This video is linked directly from my Market America webportal that also had other Market America videos. The total length of the video is 35:24 minutes and if you are patient enough to watch past the 19:00 minutes mark, you will see the special guests telling the results after participating in the Transitions Lifestyle system.

From the video you will see the difference between Transitions Lifestyle (TLS) weight management system and other diet programs out there. The TLS emphasizes in changing the eating habits by eating mostly low glycemic index (GI) foods, exercising, and taking the supplements that are targeting body fat. Joining the Transitions Lifestyle system is a commitment to change your lifestyles that will keep body fat away forever. Besides all the guests that appeared in the video including Mellisa Girtman - the lady at the end of the video that has kept her current weight for more than 4 years, the stories of other people such as Maria Santiago, Sandy Kaplan and others can also be found in Transitions Lifestyle website following the link above. These are testimonials to the effectiveness of the program that I have also mentioned in my previous post.

By the way, since the photos of the people on stage were displayed in giant screens high above the American Airline Arena, as shown in this short video, you would not be able to see the before and after pictures of the people mentioned in the video.

Finally I’d like to add that Transitions is a total “lifestyle” system consisting of behavior modification including: menus, low glycemic index food lists, exercise, stress reduction and more. The supplements mentioned above serve a supportive role to help you accelerate and reach your weight loss goals. Again, it’s a complete system, or borrowing the words from the TLS website:

Transitions is an extensive plan that covers everything you’ll need to get fit and trim, not just a set of foods you can or cannot eat. In fact, a big part of the Transitions Lifestyle System is helping you make healthy choices while still eating a normal, diverse diet!

You can’t lose weight by only taking the necessary supplements without doing exercise or vice versa, and certainly, in my opinion, it couldn’t be that easy as shown in those ads that prompted me to write this entry. You CAN’T lose weight by just eating processed foods without the support of other components of Transitions Lifestyle weight management system.

    Very true,
We have to do our part as having regular exercise and eating healthier food.
It is not the food that they advertised but the change is entirely your choice to direct your self into it.
