John Chow is a marketing genius and he has a bunch of loyal visitors to his unique blog at John Chow dot com. I was checking another up and coming marketing genius, Kumiko Suzuki’s blog when this thought of new way to advertise came to mind. Kumiko has just responded with her own take on John Chow’s posting.
I thought, hm, there are companies out there knows how to advertise inexpensively. In the past, John Chow had rewards his avid visitors by giving away to the lucky one(s) some of the freebies he had received. Well, I’m not so sure if he will do that this time due to the nature of this product. As of this writing, John has received 60 comments about that product that I’m a little embarrased to say. Kumiko has written her own promotion about this product and guess what, this product has already got a lot of exposures for the price of the product plus shipping and handling fee to John Chow. While she has only two comments at the time of this writing, I’m sure the numbers will be up as time goes by.
I just got into blogsphere few weeks ago. My readers is far from John Chow or Kumiko’s. But I thought, this looks like a new way that some of the companies out there can advertise their product(s) inexpensively using these creatives (and genius) bloggers like John Chow or Kumiko. I know, there were many review sites out there for some electronics and other consumers products. But reading Kumiko and John Chow’s blogs, I just wonder, if this a new way to advertise your product(s) inexpensively? One of the visitors of Kumiko’s blog even wanted to create a banner with John and Kumiko’s pictures on it. That’s fun!
There is a chinese proverbs, “the crane and the clam fighting each other, the fisherman makes the gain”. Well, John and Kumiko are not fighting but vibrating on the same banner as Ajiit put it in his comment on Kumiko’s blog, and the company that sent John the product is laughing all the way to the bank.
ps: Oops, sorry Kumiko. I misread Ajiit’s comment. He was going to make the banner for you with John’s pictures on it!
