Evil Creativity of John Chow - Part 2

John Chow knows well how to make money online, he made it, made more and more every month, and the beauty of it — he teaches you how to make money online whenever he has a chance as you can see from the list of entries for a search result on his blog using the phrase ‘make money online’.
At the end of the month John summarized his earning by tabulating them. then displayed it graphically, showing the progress of his online earning since he started to monetize his blog back in September 2006. You can see at a glance his February 2007 Earning Summary from the graph in the post.
Not only that, he also use his evil creativity and was able to collect then donate a total of $1014.14 to his Church through online solicitation. Last week I wrote about that campaign in Evil Creativity of John Chow. Half of that amount was his matching fund.
To me, that was a very successful campaign for two reasons. First, he was looking to support the Easter Meals program of his church that would only cost $2.59/person. With the money collected plus his matching fund, the Church would then be able to provide Easter meal for some 390 people or more. Second, as I mentioned in my post, when I tried to solicit money for Lukas mBira back in 2005, I only got around one third of that amount while the need was some 300 folds. Should I have the ability of John Chow to monetize a weblog now, I would be able to support any charity work like that without pulling out money from my pocket, bother my friends at work via selling candies or direct solicitation, and I would be able to touch many people’s lives, for example through the good work of my cyber friend, Captain Budi Soehardi at Roslin Orphanage.
To me, the reason for John Chow’s success is very simple. John knows how to use baits cleverly, that’s why he jokes and always refers to himself as the root of all evils. He offers a win-win opportunity that was hard to refuse. Many people are then willing to open their pockets or providing a review (like this one
) for this evil creativity. Citing Google Analytics, John reported that the blog traffic for February was 266,641 page views from 127,614 unique visitors. A back link from a high traffic blog like this is many blogers dreams come true, particularly to newbies that are still looking to attract more traffics to their blogs.
Per the FAQ at Technorati site:
A Technorati Ranking relates to the number of sources that point to a particular weblog relative to other weblogs. The more sources referencing a weblog, the higher the Technorati ranking.
Thanks to that evil creativity of John, I was able to get few back links from his site, and my Technorati rank has jumped from 268,000 to 64,000 now. This is a direct result of frequent visits to John Chow dot com, learned the techniques he offered, got to know blogers that congregated in his community via comments’ forum, then worked with these other blogers, got many more back links from them, and here I’m.
The other day, my new cyber friend Saman whom I know from John Chow community reminded me that: “… we can’t just rely on link backs from Top Commentator lists. We need to concentrate on building relationships in our community and great content!” I fully agree with him. If it wasn’t John Chow, I would probably still in the 2.7 million range of the Technorati ranking. I like to think that without visitors to your blog is like having a store without providing entrances for the customers to the store. It looks good from the glass windows, but nobody would go in to buy anything. What’s the point of having a store?
Now, John is offering a link back bait again for a review with an emphasize on making money online. I understand that I have deviated a lot from the title of my blog since I became a frequent visitor to this evil blog of John Chow. But hey, sky is not always clear or ISS is not always passing my area every night, and there are a lot of random thoughts that I would like to write here. That’s why I have already added the words ‘and my random thoughts’ to the subtitle of this blog. It implies the widen of the topics in this blog.
The quick links to satellite tracking resources on the Internet are and will always be there on top of the left sidebar. I will write about the topic of satellite tracking or review any event if I have something to write. But for now, due to the influence of this root of all evil John Chow, I’m looking to monetize this blog. I want the blog to help me touching more people’s lifes via supporting the charity works that I have been doing with some of my friends for quite sometime now.
Thank you, John.

Thanks, John. I expect that my Technorati rank would jump from 58014 to a better number later.
Due to the change from Andreas01-12 theme to Mistylook theme, the quick links to Satellite Tracking resources are not in the left sidebar but have moved to the top tabs.
