John Chow dot com - A Review

John Chow is a dot com mogul. His TTZ website carrying various electronic toys is a potential link that I could add to the Featured Sites of this blog, once I know how much he is going to pay me for the link.
However, I would review his blog - John Chow dot com instead, then put this entry under the Personal Category for the following reasons:
First, yesterday John has just posted “Making Money from A Blog - January 2007” and wrote the following:
In five short months, I have taken this blog from zero to what many people would consider a good full time work income. How did I do this? First, let’s break down the January earnings so you can see where the money came from.
- Direct Ad Sales: $750.00
- Text Links Ads: $621.68
- Affiliate Sales: $545.00
- Google AdSense: $536.58
- Vibrant IntelliTXT: $478.18
- TTZ Media: $183.54
- FeedBurner Ads: $175.68
- ReviewMe: $150.00
- Grand Total: $3,440.66
That of course is a heck of income stream. However, like I’ve mentioned before, it all dependents on so many factors such as, how much time are you going to put in, how are you going to slant your site, etc.
Over the past two months, I have made John Chow dot com a must visit site for the following reasons:
1. I visit John’s blog regularly in order to learn on how to make money via the Internet. John is very generous in describing these techniques. Most of the posts here described in details on how to earn money using your blog.
2. Over the years, I have helped people such as my cyber friend Captain B and others in setting up their blog or websites. By learning the techniques from John Chow’s posting, I could then show it to my friends on how to use the Internet as a cash generating machine. Beside the Internet bills, there could be some left over money for their other activities, particularly in a remote area such as in the location of Roslin Orphanage.
Here are some additional reasons why I love to visit John’s blog:
1. John has a very clear idea on what is he going to do as described clearly in this post. Many great minds starting from Napoleon Hill, up to Robert Kiyosaki, or people such as Jack Canfield, one of the authors of The Secret book or DVD, would agree with what John has written there in the post. With a pair of old eyes like mine, it’s not hard to recognize John’s writing as an inspirational source, particularly to the young enterpreneurs that have a longer journey than an old fart like me.
2. John is also very generous in giving back to community. In A Time To Give Back John wrote:
Today, I made good on that statement by donating $1,000 of the blog’s income to the Immanuel Christian Reformed Church. My wife and I attend this church. It is only a few blocks from our home and we have been going to this church since moving to our current location.
I am also making a $500 donation to the Union Gospel Mission. Union Gospel Mission exists to offer hope to the hungry, hurting and homeless.
3. Last but not least, John loves humor and he would make you laugh while reading his blogs most of the time. For example, please take a look at these pictures and you will find that beside John’s naughty hand, there are a lot of funny pictures that would keep you smiling. You can also read these postings, or look of the cover of this book - which was a joke at the time of posting I believe, and I’m sure you’d find it entertaining.
4. There was only one thing that bothered me, i.e., when reading John’s reports on dining out. No, please don’t get me wrong. I love those reports, and would like to try all the foods he mentioned. All my worries were actually directed more toward people of my age group, where tear and wears have limited our ability to enjoy good (high fat, high glycemic index, high cholesterol and salty) foods. But I still thought that reducing fat, cholesterol, and salt in your food would always be good for the health. Fortunately, since John was an Ultimate Champioship contestant
, he must be an athlete and not a couch potato like me. In addition to that, his eating habit is honestly, not my business. The only reason I brought this up simply because I believe, John would definitely inspire many young enterpreneurs for a very long time.
