Acupuncture and Back Pain

Back pain has been bothered me in the past few months. However, the only thing I still remember from the book of Dr John Sarno that I read few years ago is, don’t let the back pain to be an excuse and to prevent you from your normal activities or something to that effect. That’s why I’ve never let my back pain prevented me from my daily routine.
Tonight, I remember a program I saw this morning when a doctor was talking to Bill Hammer of Foxnews on the decreasing number of General Surgeons in the U.S. so I went to search for the news but instead, it took me to this Dr. Manny video on Pinning Back Pain. I thought, this would be a complement to my previous posting showing the video on acupuncture, so I just added it here to share with you all.
Dr. Charles Kim of Mt. Sinai Medical Center in NY shown in the video said that the pain might be alleviated after 3 or 6 treatments. For me, that simply means it’s time to go back to see Dr. Ly again as he told me to see him if the pain still bothers me. Also, like what I remember from Dr. Sarno’s book, according to Dr. Kim, bed rest is a no-no for the back pain.
Thanks to Dr. Manny and Doctor Rosenfeld that have brought up this topic. To date, my insurance company still doesn’t want to cover the acupuncture treatment. I really don’t understand why they would let us go to doctors and get those painkillers that will harm our liver and other side effects but don’t want to cover the acupuncture that doesn’t introduce any toxin to our body. Like what Dr. Manny said in the video,
A recent study in the archives of internal medicine shows that acupuncture appears to be more effective than many might think.
Anyway, I hope you would enjoy the video!
